Popular Malayalam actress Navya Nair tied knot with Mumbai-based Santhosh today in her hometown.

Santhosh is from Kottayam district and is working with a multinational. The marriage reception will take place in her hometown Cheppad in Alleppy district and close to 5,000 people including leading Malayalam actors as well as artists from other South Indian states are expected to attend the ceremony.

Here's to Marianne Faithfull and the temptation of fringe. I'm growing my hair out to my elbows but am already so bored. I keep thinking well, if I cut my fringe now, by the time I actually reach the length I want, they'll long be grown out. Oh what a dilemna!

But back to Ms. Faithfull, she's got extraordinary sense of style. The few photos here don't do her eclectic style justice. I mentioned the other day that I'd like to start sporting slimming sweaters topped off with a dainty scarf. Well, she pulls it off perfectly with a gorgeous crochet number. And then there's her standing next to Mick Jagger where, well let's just say his outlandish style easily makes anyone look simple and chic!



Aside from being girlfriend to Mick Jagger, Marianne was famous in her own right. Landing gigs in coffee houses in the early 1960s until she was, okay yes, essentially discovered at a Rolling Stones launch party. This was her first major release, sweetly sung I might add...

Actress Navya Nair got married today

Navya Nair,the successful actress of Malayalam who has secured a position in the mind of Kerala people married Santosh Narayana Menon today. (Jan 21, 2010).

The wedding ceremony held at C.K.H.S.S ground of Chepad. Navya’s groom Mr. Santosh Menon is the Vice pPesident of Sreechakra Pvt Ltd which is an exporting firm in Mumbai. The wedding will be conducted in the presence of large crowd of invitees. Navya’s father Er.Raju told that she will continue in silver screen selectively after marriage.

a family affair: granny

Finally. More photos along with bits and pieces from Granny's scrapbook! I don't know why but for some reason as much as I love doing these, I can never decide which bits to put together. This little collection I loved because it's a side of her I never knew. The young, happy go lucky gal in nursing school. That and Western Union messages are so neat!

The prose style writing. So simplistic. So too the point. Dotted with STOPs because punctuation cost extra. I didn't realize it, but they were actually most popular in the 1920s and 30s because they were still cheaper than long-distance phone calls.



Oh and the funny thing about the Wrigley's gum wrapper is that Granny always had a pack of Wrigley's in her purse. Usually one or two of those five piece packs. She used to get them when she would pay her tab at Live Oak Grocery, the local grocery store. On car rides, my cousin and I would have little tea parties with tiny goblets she taught us to make with the foil pieces. Resourceful much!

The venue for the wedding is Cheppad CKHS grounds. The ceremony will be held from 12.05 to 12.30pm and will be in Hindu-Nair style. The reception will be held at 6pm in the evening on that day in the same place.
