Last week I received the greatest email from Nancy, a floral designer and reader from Florida. She explained how she mentors a group of 20 volunteers at her church, First Presbyterian Church of Orlando, Florida. The volunteers (working in groups of 3) spend time each week making sure the worship center at First Presbyterian is graced with beautiful flowers. Her email asked: Our church is large, so we do very large arrangements. Do you ever showcase large arrangements?
As I thought about the question, I realized that I don’t usually showcase large arrangements. I’m grateful for the question…and the email! So, for those of you looking for inspiration to create large arrangements…especially the Flower Ministry volunteers at First Presbyterian…hope this inspires…

Now let me show you some of the beautiful arrangements created by the talented volunteers at First Presbyterian…
Nancy definitely got me thinking about how we can use our floral talents for the Lord in ministry opportunities in our churches and communities. She mentioned a neighboring Methodist church in Orlando that has volunteers take the large altar arrangements apart after the church services and make them into smaller bouquets which are delivered to sick and shut-in church members. Thanks, Nancy, for sharing your thoughts and photos…one more reason I love blogging! To the volunteers in the Flower Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando: You inspire me! I know God blesses those you touch through your ministry…and blesses you as you serve others.
It’s going to be a good week!
