an unlikely find

I may or may not be alone in my thinking, but I have absolutely no desire to see Hot Tub Time Machine...Or shall I say had. What, you ask, caused such a change of heart? Well, today I came across I came across heaps of clothing from the set and so of course now it's peaked my interest. I'm thinking of going to see it just to catch a glimpse of how they wear the clothes. Is that ridiculous?

Regardless of the movie taking place in 1986, a lot of the clothes were actually pieces from the 1970s and 1980s...And super cute I might add! Here's a sneak peak of some of the goodies. They should be up in the shop by the end of the night. Enjoy!

On a side note, how amazing would it be to get a job as a wardrobe stylist for film or even TV for that matter?

wait till the girls get a load of this

Honest to goodness it's the absolute ultimate! For some reason vintage beach wear always makes me think of Gidget quotes. I love love love the two-piece but sadly it's just slightly too big in the bottom so off into the shop it goes.

I've also found an adorable 1960s pastel striped romper that I thought was going to be the perfect playsuit. Alas, when I got it home and slipped it on, it was another reminder of my long torso...Too short! Unfortunate for me, but good news I suppose for a gal in search of a 1960s romper.

something to sun in

Swimming holes and sunny days of Spring and Summer are soon to be here. I, for one, cannot wait! Lounging under the trees with a book in hand, water in sight, is one of my favorite past times that's for sure. These solid suits from the 60s, 70s and 80s will be in the shop today along with a few other lovely swimsuits.

stop motion fancies

Last Fall I kept coming across small film projects online, falling a little bit more in love with stop motion at the click of each video. I've always loved photography in itself, but the idea of snapping a series of images and merging them to form one cohesive video is mesmerizing.

Okay, I know I just simplified the hell out of it! But seriously, really good stop motion always takes a little piece of my heart, and I can't tell you how much I want to do one myself especially after seeing this video on Etsy yesterday. Can you believe these folks found each other on Etsy and decided to collaborate? How neat is that?

Watching Lost Things definitely rekindled a desire to try my hand at this art so the question is...Is there anybody out there who could offer me their wise words of advice on the matter? I would love suggestions on anything from what program to use to story lines to techniques. Help! Oh and as big as my ideas are, I suppose I should start simple, as in the last video.

I'll be brainstorming today while photography for the shop and editing photos but I'll leave you with a few other favorites...

Rachel posted this one awhile back and so glad she did or it never would have graced my presence! Perhaps I'm a little in love with him or perhaps I just want to be him. I can't quite tell.

A graphic equalizer that makes me want to dance? Yes please!

And lastly, this bedhead video because it actually looks like a feasible project!

black and white and all that's nice

Black and white outfit posts are probably futile. Eh, oh well, I couldn't resist just one little day of it! I headed over to Llano for the afternoon with my mom, managed to swing a few nice finds, snap a couple pics and eat a yummy blackberry cobbler a la mode from Cooper's. Mouth watering...I can still taste it!

* 1970s crochet dress from Buffalo Exchange...$11 on credit!
* Tan round-toe pumps from Goody Two Shoes

And that's all for this evenings show folks...But be sure to check in tomorrow for a slew of swimsuits I'll be putting up in the shop!

bits of love

Hello Sunday! Lovely, lazy, laid back Sunday. And because I'm feeling all of the above this evening and not much in the mood for writing, here are a few things I love...

building forts out of sheets
(it's been too long)

morning light glimmering on my bed
(goodbye my lovely bedroom)

touching my toes
(every night before bedtime, thank you!)

dangling legs from window frames
(with a pinch of daydreaming)

running head first into the unknown
(i'm headed there now)
