bewitching braids

Considering I couldn't even put my hair into a decent ponytail until I entered high school, it's no wonder I've always been envious of those girls who seem to effortlessly braid their hair into the most pristine plaits. Whether they're English, French or Dutch I couldn't care. To me, each style is perfectly adorable!

The style that truly makes me swoon, the one I've never even come close to accomplishing yet alone mastering, is the Heidi-style crown. Now that my hair is actually getting long enough to play with, I'm intrigued and ready to experiment. I couldn't believe my luck when, after perusing several less than thrilling tutorials, I came across this one by Aya over at Strawberry Koi Vintage. And the best part...She's actually got a whole slew of cutesy, easy-to-follow tutorials. Hello beautiful hair to come!

extra extra...read all about it

It's out! It's done! I'm good! I'm gone! Well...almost gone...I finally took the dive! Dive, you ask? Yes, well, I've finally resigned from my day job at the metal smith shop and will officially be self-employed at the end of the month! I've been thinking about it for quite some time but have been a bit too scared to actually do anything about it.

It's just that it's such a nerve-racking idea! I've become completely spoiled with a steady income and the thought of giving this up makes me a bit anxious, especially with all the lovely surprises that have graced my bank account this year.

Car problems. A plethora of traffic tickets. Stolen laptop. Things just kept coming up. Rudely interrupting my plans of saving. Pushing back my enticing ideas. And finally I realized it was just something that had to be done.

So there you go. I said it! It's official! And please excuse the excessive use of exclamations, it's just I'm that excited!

I'll be in a tizzy all weekend, but of course the best kind. Wish me luck!

l'officiel brasil

Recreating looks of past beauties has never looked so delicious! True, it's done quite often, but L'Officiel Brasil's June 2009 issue has me wanting to run home and play dress-up. How great would it be to have crazy curly red hair like the Edith Piaf rendition? Of course I'm posing this question as the straight-haired brunette who's been contemplating a change for some time now!

Three lovelies I was terribly tempted to keep, but considering the current state of my closet, decided to put them up in the shop! Enjoy...I hope they find a nice new home.

naomilingerie

After spending a good part of yesterday afternoon drooling over the most charming lingerie I’ve seen in ages on Modish, I had to know, just who is the woman behind these beauties!

Enter Naomi, the one-woman force behind Naomilingerie, a rather new and perfectly designed Etsy shop featuring adorably dainty bra and panty sets and honeyed nighties.

Though she’s only been designing lingerie since January, she’s backed with seven years of experience in Tokyo’s fashion industry. And I’ve got to say, if this is what Naomi’s created in just the four months since opening Naomilingerie, I’m terribly eager to see what’s to come!

On Inspiration. I find comfort in antiques and organic forms.

On Material. Chiffon and organdie are captivating when working with them, they flow and feel lovely in my hands.

On Her Move to Australia. I grew up in country side of Japan. I had been fashion designer in Tokyo for 7 years. (I designed women's casual wear) But I was sick of fashion indutry! Because lots of mass production and copy commodity....So, I quitted job and then I traveled in Australia. Now I'm making lingerie in here.

And we're so glad you are! I've already fallen in love with the YUME sleep boxers in the dreamy floral chiffon only to find out they are too big for me...Guess I'll just have to head back to see what other goodies await!
