Can you tell I'm listening to a bit of The Carter Family? If you never heard Wildwood Flower, go listen now! The lyrics are as bittersweet as can be...

Perhaps these are a little better as far as the backdrop being a bit more consistent in color. I'm kind of thinking I might have a future in prom photography or at least creating the backdrops. Don't I look like that girl who flew solo to the dance perfectly happy yet was forced by mother to order the largest photo package possible? These lovelies will be up in the shop over the next few days along with the rest of yesterdays post!

Which would you likely choose? I would definitely lean toward the pink and white garden wedding (because I’m crazy about that black trim on the tent), the beach wedding or the turquoise wedding in the old chapel (you know how I feel about white and turquoise)…but, then, there’s that gorgeous chandelier at the country club pavilion and the all white garden (and white is my favorite color) and the incredible scenery with the hills an cactus and the theatrical stage/altar area (which has to be one of the most creative things I’ve seen)…honestly, I love them all!

a little makeover

Now that I'm in the lovely state of Washington and reorganizing my life, I thought perhaps I would do a little reorganizing in the shop as well. I've been thinking about changing the style of photography up for awhile now. Changing it to something a bit less time consuming, more manageable and moving it into the comfort of my own home. The thing is, I've been quite torn because I really do love the look of the outdoor shop photos. It's just that with the weather being so unpredictable here it makes more sense to move things inside.

I spent yesterday setting up a backdrop, and all of this morning working out the lighting. Insert huge sigh here. This is what I came up with. I'm still not sure how I feel about it, but I think shifting the focus of the photos to the clothes and using a consistent back drop might be nice. And photographing the shop this way will give me more of the photo play time I've been craving.

It's still up in the air whether I'll stick to this but I would absolutely love to hear what ya'll have to say. Don't be shy...Type your comments away! Oh and I'll be posting these lovelies in the shop over the next few days.

the great shoe search

Thanks everyone for yesterday's well wishes! I managed to keep my throat numb most of the day thanks to a pack of Cepacol my brother picked up for me last night. Normally I wouldn't drug myself up so much, but I had to get at least a little work done today. I kind of been popping them like candy...Oops!

I got about half the work done and ended up finding these two pairs of shoes when I was out running errands. Even sick, I couldn't resist stopping in one thrift store! One pair I'm keeping. One pair will be up for grabs in the shop later this evening. Any ideas on which pair will find it's way to my closet? Hint...I can't keep the pair I find most adorable because they're just a wee bit too small. Oh well, at least I get one pair out of the deal!

I'm feeling quite down in the dumps today. My little sore throat has come back full force and all I can bring myself to do is watch reruns of A Haunting on the Discovery channel and piddle around on the interwebs. While pathetically wallowing in my general feelings of crapiness, I came across this series of photos from a book called Sleeveface, Be the Vinyl. How is it this came out in 2008 and I'm just now finding it?




They've even got a hilarious how-to video with tips on making your own. Perhaps when I'm feeling more like myself I'll have to play around with my brother's record collection. Hmmm...Yes, I do think I will!
