Working Designer Wednesday: Floral Cooler Care

Now here’s a blah subject…but, I think it might be worth discussing because I’m realizing how many florists have questions about their coolers…let’s face it, we would all rather spend our time designing than cleaning the walls of the cooler, right? So, let’s just hit the basics first…then you can email me with your own ideas and personal tales of cooler care…

1. Make sure the temperature inside your cooler stays between 34-36 degrees with 90% relative humidity.

2. Clean the inside walls, floor and shelves once/week. I know some people use a weak bleach/water solution to clean the cooler and others use a commercial cleaner like DCD. What do you use?

3. Do not store food in the cooler…especially fruits as they produce ethylene gas that shortens the life of cut flowers.

4. Change the preservative solution in your flower buckets regularly…at least every three days.

5.  Remove dead/dying flowers and foliage from cooler promptly.

6. Clean buckets and vases after every use.

a little help

It's been quite some time since I've done an outfit post. Yes, yes, I've been back in Austin for almost three months now. I must say though, it's been three months of that odd in between living. A time where I'm here and there, traveling and settling and such.

I'm shamelessly throwing that out as an excuse along with my overall lack of clothing, and to be quite honest, my lack of money at the moment. With my life in slightly chaotic transition, this unrelenting heat wave and the boy visiting, I haven't been too much in the mood for photos. Admittedly, there's been a lack of inspiration as well.

Nonetheless, when my mom asked me to take some photos for her today, I said sure. (Although in a slightly hesitant manner due to said reasons.) We ended up having a nice little time over at my Aunt Joan's house...Don't ask me how her yard is so green in this severe drought, but somehow she manages! I got to slip on a petticoat and wear a darling little 1950s number from her shop.

You can still look Amazing in your maxi dress!

The maxi dress is always on TREND!
They are great to wear for all seasons really. I don't agree with people saying maxi dresses are for summer only, I think they can be worn during all seasons with an exception of maybe heavy snow/rainy days. But other than that, the weather doesn't really matter with Maxi because if you want to wear it during winter times, you can always wear lots of layers underneath your maxi just like you would with any other clothing so I would definitely suggest maxi dresses to be a wardrobe must have item. There are many different ways to wear your maxi dresses and this page will show you exactly how to do it.

Maxi dresses come in lots of varieties and there are appropriate maxis to suit all shapes and ages.

I always hear girls telling me that they love maxi dresses but they are too short to wear it and some always moan about how they think they are fat to wear it and so on. If you are one of those types, you have fully misunderstood the maxi dress concept.

Ladies, you have to understand the fact that any one can look amazing in maxi dresses, therefore your height and weight does not matter at all. But what might affect your over all look is how you wear it and the varieties you choose from.

What suits me? How do I wear it? What colour should I choose? What shoes should I wear? What this...how this...how that...WORRY NOT!
